Manchester United’s 17-match unbeaten run in all competitions came to an end on Thursday night at the KCOM Stadium where Hull City claimed a 2-1 win in the EFL Cup semi-final second leg encounter.
Despite the win for Hull, it is Man. United that will vie for the trophy against Southampton at Wembley on February 26 thanks to a 3-2 aggregate score; United had won the first leg 2-0.
On the night, Hull showed their intent from the start in search of a way back to cancel the first leg deficit.

And their efforts reaped its reward 35 minutes in through Tom Huddlestone‘s penalty following Marcos Rojo‘s foul on Harry Maguire.
However, the Red Devils came out in better shape for the second half and soon restored their two=goal cushion on aggregate through Paul Pogba‘s 66th minute equaliser.

Both sides then came close to getting a second, with Rojo heading against the Hull crossbar while Oumar Niasse saw his effort come off the United woodwork.
Niasse would not be denied with five minutes to go, as his late strike set up a tense finale which United survived to scale through to the final.
