The current villain of world football Luiz Suarez has escaped punishment after punching an opponent during a World Cup qualifier against Chile.
FIFA opened an investigation after the referee who officiated the Uruguay versus Chile match missed the punching incident.
‘The matter in question does not require the intervention of FIFA’s disciplinary committee and therefore the disciplinary procedure in question is declared closed’ said FIFA.
Luis Suarez is currently serving a 10 match ban after biting Ivanovic during a Liverpool–Chelsea match.
