Someone obviously is not a big fan of Lionel Messi after the Barcelona star’s bronze statue was found broken in half in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The statue’s torso, arms and head was removed, just half a year after its unveiling in June 2016 when the forward announced he was retiring from the national team; a decision he has since rescinded.

The reason for the damage was not clear, though, many locals believe he is more committed to Barcelona than he is to the national team.
It may be such persons who are responsible for the latest act of vandalism on the player’s person.

The statue stood on Paseo de la Gloria (Glory Street), which also displays casts of other famous Argentine sports stars such as tennis player Gabriela Sabatini and basketball player Manuel Ginobili.
There are reports that the city government is already working on its repair.
