Lionel Messi has finally revealed why he decided to go blonde after the 2016 Copa America finals.
The Barcelona star was first spotted with his new hairdo – a platinum blonde in late July, after a picture was posted on Instagram.

The 29-year-old, while addressing the question of why he chose a new hair colour, stated, ‘I made a change to start from zero, I was emerging from a lot of controversies, of things that had happened to me and I said to myself: ‘You’ve got to break this and start again.’
Since the 2016 Copa America Centenario final loss to Chile, Messi has returned to the national team from an earlier announced retirement, scoring the winner against Uruguay in his first match back with Argentina.
