- KSA: Born into a royal family, father was a church organist, he absconded from home under the guise of attending the university in Lagos but instead pitched tent with renowned thespian, Baba Sala’s group. He started his own band and has been nominated twice for the Grammy’s… The story of King Sunny Ade is one which is nothing but amazing, it needs to be captured in a book.
- Olu Jacobs: A good number of us grew up watching this legend on tv yet very little is known about him apart from the fact that he is married to Mummy Jay (Joke Silva). Olu Jacobs’ biography is just one project which needs to be embarked on.
- Ali Baba: Ali Baba sat on stage reviewing the 2face biography, ‘A Very Good Bad Guy’ and one was forced to ask if this dude was a university professor or a comedian. This Nigerian king of comedy is a book himself and it is quite wonderful to know that a large percentage of the current top comedians in the industry passed through the tutelage of the Delta born comedian turned entertainment consultant at one point or the other. In fact, the commentaries of his protégées alone are enough to publish a 2 volume biography of Ali Baba.
Ali Baba - Pete Edochie: Long before Pete Edochie became acclaimed for his heroic villain roles in Nollywood and his proverb telling acumen, this supreme head of the bearded gang became the most popular actor in Africa when he played Okonkwo in the screen adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s ‘Things Fall Apart’. Somebody needs to come up with this icon’s biography, I am simply interested in his 2009 kidnap saga.
- RMD: He is 54 yet appears a lot younger despite his trendy gray beards. From going up in a polygamous home, to studying theatre at the university and emerging one of the best students to emerging at one time the highest paid actor in Nollywood and then returning to the university to get a law degree, Richard Mofe Damijo’s life has always been a book. Well it was until now when we believe it should actually be put into a book.
- Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde: Despite all the scandals and backbiting, Nollywood diva, Omotala has over the years held her shoulders up and continued to make waves globally and being placed on lists which have rather intimidating names like Michele Obama and Beyonce. Omotola got married at an early age yet has one of the most enduring relationships among her pairs. At 37 and with 4 fast growing kids, there is need to put the life of this delectable screen icon and role model into a book, especially, as an encouragement to young people.
- TWO: The Nigerian entertainment industry has seen the break-up of hundreds of marriages, the industry has witnessed the pack-up of dozens of music group and even the almost disintegration of a twin group yet this duo keeps waxing stronger. The Tunde and Wunmi Obe brand has gone beyond the couple themselves with phenomenal success achieved in music, television and business. Someone needs to tell the story of this folks.
- Eedris Abdulkareem, Timaya, Jim Iyke, Tonto Dikeh, etc: Well not a biography obviously but a book needs to be written on the most controversial members of the entertainment industry who unarguably have contributed immensely to the growth of scandals in the showbiz world.
