As a young boy, he grew up listening to music which greatly influenced him. Jimmy Jatt started out as a rapper known as Master J. However, after a fruitless bid to get a record deal, he with the support of his brother started ‘deejaying’ at events which led to the establishment of his first organisation, Jatt Studio.
Over the years, Jimmy Jatt has grown to become the most recognised Disc Jockey on the African continent. He is also the first Nigerian DJ to release a music album- ‘The Definition’ which featured over 50 Nigerian artistes including 2face, Modenine, Sound Sultan among others.
Jimmy Jatt remains one of the most recognizable figures on the Nigerian entertainment scene and has over the years paved way for many other younger Djs who have also gone on to make names for themselves. He celebrated his 25th year in the industry in 2014.
