After eight long months of inactivity, Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomosho is set to reopen this week.
The institution has been in the news in recent times, their plight made more known by the viral video of the Oyo State governor Abiola Ajimobi dismissing them condescendingly when students went on a protest to his office. He was seen on video saying in Yoruba, ‘And so what? Is this the first time schools will be shut… Go and do your worst…’
It was roundly criticized by all and may be responsbile for the vigour with which Oyo and Osun State came to a resolution that will see the school reopne on Friday January 27.
All activities in the university has been grounded since June 2016 when both academic and non-academic staff downed tools in protest of delays in salaries.
