The African Artists’ Foundation (AAF) has come together with the European National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) to present the second edition of the Lagos Photo Festival which will hold on Sunday, October 9, 2011.
This year’s festival theme has been tilted ‘What’s Next Africa? -The Hidden Stories’ and will according to organizers aims to use the power of photography to ‘represent the hidden stories on the continent as opposed to the over represented, sensationalised, dramatic images on Africa popular across the globe’.
The Festival will also focus on social issues as well as view the continent from a ‘holistic and organic perspective’.
The festival features images from about 41 photographers which include renowned international artists as well as Nigeria’s finest and emerging photographers. They include:
Nana Kofi Acquah, Aderemi Adegbite, Akintunde Akinleye, Kelechi Obi Amadi , Anonymous , Jodi Bieber , Magali Corouge, Alfredo D’Amato,Giulio D’Ercole, John Densky, Peter DiCampo, Emeka Ebeniro, Victor Ehikhamenor, Alixandra Fazzina, Chinenye, Godsproperty John, Glenna Gordon Chantal Heijnen , Misa Irodia, Solofo Tinah, Martin Waalboer, Mário Macilau , Giulia Marchi, Tiana Markova-Gold, Héctor Mediavilla, Sabelo Mlangeni, Daniel Naudé, Chidi Nwankwo, Marc Oberdorfer, George Okwong, George Osodi, Joseph Penney, Judith Quax, Britta Radike, Tom Saater, Alafuro Sikoki, RijaSolo, Andrea Stultiens, Daniel Tamagni, Kadir van Lohuizen, Yuri Kozyrev, Selvaprakash Lakshmanan.
The doors are also open to amateur photographers who want to feature in the forthcoming festival.

October 9: Grand Opening ceremony and Exhibition, Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
October 15-16: Lagos Photo Party in the Park, Muri Okunola Park Victoria Island, Lagos.
October 22-23: Lagos Photo Photo Walk (for amateur and professional photographers).
October 7-23: Photography workshops (for amateur and professional photographers).
October 30: Fashion photography exhibitions /film screenings – Freedom park, Lagos Island.
Outdoor exhibitions will take place at Muri Okunola park, Victoria Island, Falomo underpass, Ikoyi, MKO Abiola park Ketu, Ikeja, Professor Ayodele Awojobi Park, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba.
