Lagos will experience the ultimate in alfresco style music when the seventh edition of the annual Lagos Jazz Series holds on Friday and Saturday, November 25 and 26, 2016.
This year’s edition will take place at two venues, Muri Okunola Park on Friday, November 25 and The Moorhouse Sofitel Hotel Ikoyi on Saturday, November 26.
Announcing the line-up, Oti Bazunu, convener of the Lagos Jazz Series said ‘Lagos is in for something amazing this time around as the Lagos Jazz Series happens again. Old time music lovers who are familiar with Hamish Stuart from The Average White Band are in for a treat and then there is British soul legend Omar who will be bringing his unique soul music to Lagos.’
A statement released by the organisers of the Lagos Jazz series listed other acts as Cape Verdean bands, Lito Coolio and Lizenda Da Cruz whose blend of Morna music infused with reggae is fresh and amazingly different. They will be bringing alive the spirit of Cape Verdean diva, Cesaria Evora.
Maka is a fast rising Nigerian female act with a fresh approach and flavour as she takes charge on the key board.
Other acts on the line-up include the Lagos Jazz Series Quintet and a host of others.
Guests will be treated not just to good music but also to Catuma, a special bubbly wine making its Lagos debut.
