For Korede Bello, it is time to stake his claim in the music industry following the announcement of his debut album, Belloved.
He’s the last one to release a studio album amongst a slew of his contemporaries, including Kiss Daniel, Lil Kesh, Reekado Banks, and Adekunle Gold; who all released their debut albums in 2016.
The 20-year-old singer is still studying at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, but he has definitely moved on from the boy that used to jump buses with a guitar, to a promising music star, with brand endorsements and a credible community of fans here and abroad.
Exclusive: Korede Bello’s debut album drops on March 11
Korede Bello’s album is coming two years after the release of his award-winning hit song, ‘Godwin’.
The Lagos-born singer, who has performed at almost all major shows in Nigeria, has also toured Africa and many other cities across the world since he signed with Mavin Records in February 2014.
Korede is the second most profitable Mavin star (after Tiwa Savage), raking in over N100m for the label since he joined, by Nigerian Entertainment Today calculations.

The ‘Mungo Park’ singer has also garnered over 66 million YouTube views, and several millions of views on other platforms for his music videos.

TheNETng exclusively revealed earlier that the album will drop on March 11, with Don Jazzy, Altims and Baby Fresh working on the production.
The hugely expected album will determine if the singer will go on to become a major super star, following in the direction of WIZKID and Davido, or otherwise. Pundits say it’s safe to bet on the kid’s success.
