Muhoho Kenyatta, also known as ‘Mo’, who’s the first son of President Uhuru Kenyatta has made a name for himself as the founder of Nomadic Fashion Brand and the youngest fashion designer in Kenya.
At the recently concluded Kenya Fashion Week held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Villa Rosa Kempinski, the 17-year-old lad showcased his uni-sex Khanga material trousers, harems and shorts which were beautifully made in bold colors and patterns.
The designer started about two years ago with 17-year-old Rudradeer ‘Rudra’ Khanna (Head of Accounts), 16-year-old Wasim Manji (Head of Marketing) and 17-year-old Waruru Wachira (Head of Production).
Speaking at the Kenya Fashion Show, one of the organisers, Sonu Sharma expressed his delight at the young group, ‘The energy of this group is contagious and we know they deserve a national platform on which to showcase their creativity’. He said.
At their first exhibition last month, the group sold 100 Khanga trousers in a day at the price of Sh2,000 each.
