The First Lady went through intensive training both in Kenya and London in preparation for the London Marathon.
Report has it that she has raised over 150million shillings, all to be used to buy mobile clinics for the 42 counties in Kenya.
Her whole family, including the president of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta, was in London to cheer and congratulate her, together with some government officials. Mama Ngina Kenyatta was also present to congratulate her.
The first lady, who was filled with enthusiasm before the race, said, ‘We have spent months preparing for this race. We are ready and in high spirits. We have come quite far with this and our focus is to raise enough money to buy the mobile clinics for all counties as well as ensuring that there is a sustainability fund and plan.’
Margaret made history as the first Kenyan First Lady to run in a marathon.
