Filmmaker Kemi Adetiba has officially teased her next major project, revealing the title of her upcoming epic film The Stool on her Instagram account, in what she describes as a deeply personal creative tradition that marks the beginning of each of her major works.

Adetiba explained that this practice dates back to 2017, when she first shared the title page of the King of Boys script not as a marketing move, but as a form of personal accountability and a public declaration of intent. She repeated the same ritual for King of Boys 2, and later for To Kill a Monkey in 2022, which she notes has since gone on its own significant journey following that early, unassuming reveal.
Now continuing the tradition, she has introduced The Stool, describing it as a new “epic” entering her creative universe. The reveal was presented simply, without spectacle, “just the way its older sibling-titles first appeared,” as it waits for its turn to be brought to life.
Beyond the announcement, Kemi Adetiba framed the moment as both reflection and resolve, calling it a reminder of beginnings and what lies ahead. “I’m focused. I’m hungry. I understand my mission and I see the vision very clear,” she wrote, ending emphatically: “It. Is. INEVITABLE!”
