Actor Jussie Smollett has returned to work on the set of ‘Empire’ as detectives are interested in chatting with the actor while he’s in town, TMZ reports.
A production source said Smollett flew back into Chicago on Sunday, after his weekend concert at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. The actor shot scenes for one of the final episodes of the season Monday and had a table read with the cast Tuesday. There was security present the entire time.

Law enforcement sources say the polices want to speak with Jussie while he’s in town as part of their ongoing investigation.
The actor was attacked while walking out a restaurant in Chicago. Two men rushed at him, poured an unidentified chemical in his face before tying a rope around his neck. They also reportedly hurled racial slurs at Smollett.
While in town, a source close to Jussie says the actor will stay at the same apartment complex where he was living at the time of the attack.
Jussie made his first public appearance at the concert on Saturday, where he very proudly stated, “I couldn’t let those motherf*****s win!”
The police revealed on Monday that they have unreleased additional surveillance footage surrounding the time leading up to and after the incident. A source says the cops have not found any video of the attack or anyone fleeing after the attack.
