Nowadays, we judge a church not by how many souls it has been able to save, but by how much money it has saved up in its accounts.
Not by how many people it has helped build up over the years, but by how many imposing and mindblowing buildings it has. Not by how many charity works it undertakes in the society, but by how many donations it receives every week from people.
Not by the level of humility, sacrifice and dedication to propagating the gospel, but by its arrogant display of wealth and materialism.
Not by its drive to evangelize to as many people as possible, as many times as possible, but by the kinds of cars the members drive.
Not by how much better the lives of the members are, but by how much the life of the pastor and his family have changed over the years.
Not by the quantity and quality of the fruits of the spirit that it exhibits, but by the physical fruits it conspicuously displays to the world.
The church is neither a building, nor is it an imposing edifice. It is you and I, it is all of us and it is each and everyone of us. Let us get understanding and our lives will never be the same again.
