The death has been announced of budding Jos-based rapper IC Da Lyricist, real name Adah Idoko Victory. Details surrounding his death are sketchy; however initial reports suggest that the young rapper, and student of the University of Jos, was murdered in the most recent rounds of violence to grip the city. The rapper was found dead on January 8th2011, just a day after celebrating his birthday.
With terrorist attacks occurring with alarming frequency since Christmas Eve 2010 in Jos – a city famous for its musical exports, it was only a matter of time before an entertainer would fall victim to the crisis. Even in mourning, the entertainment community in the city continues to rally for peace in hopes that a lasting solution can be found to the city’s problems.

NET investigated the matter and found relevant information on Adah Victory Idoko, popularly IC da lyricist amongst his peers. IC who was born on the 7th of January, 1988 hailed from Kogi State although he was based in Benue State and was a medical student at the University of Jos.
According to IC’s father, we were told that he was murdered along with many others along Bauchi road in Jos when a bus he boarded was ambushed by men armed with cutlasses and knives. His tongue was cut off and eyes removed. His corpse was found a day after his death.
A very close friend of his disclosed to NET, “IC was very active with his music and was also planning to release a mixtape in the nearest future”. IC’s twitter avatar (@ic_dalyricist) still bears a “JOSTIFIED.. STOP THE VIOLENCE” text boldly written on it.
NET also gathered that IC’s mother has been admitted into the hospital. Her Bp had shot up on hearing that her son was missing. She has not been told about his death for fear of her not losing her own life too.

What a great lose to both his family, friends and the whole world. He had alot to contribute to the world atlarge but he never had the chance to do that. Now he is gone.. Jos why?

IC I don’t know you but I must have either heard ur joint or saw ur stage performance. Where will this blood spilling lead us to. Almost all UJ student cross that bauchi road cos they just can’t go all the way round or spend more transport fare when they can just pay less and get to school faster. I have lost friends on that same road n some have just been too lucky to escape. But at that, we all still pass bauchi road, even me. Something has to be done so the life of students would be safe.
