On Tuesday, November 30, 2011 Nigerian urban-style jewellery designer Chris Aire officially launched his first boutique in Africa at the luxurious Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.
The event attended by a host of celebs which included Jamaican-American reggae giant Shaggy, Hollywood actress Lynn Whitfield, iconic African singer 2face Idibia, Port Harcourt singer Duncan Mighty and veteran Disc Jockey Jimmy JATT.
In an advertisement currently running on DSTV, Aire, who is friends with music stars like D’banj and Duncan Mighty; and has been linked with Nigeria’s controversial Minister for Petroleum Diezani Alison-Madueke, is portrayed as opening his Transcorp flagship store, as a way of giving back to Nigerians.
Popularly called the ‘King of Bling’, Aire is known for designing luxurious jewellery and other accessories including wrist watches and dime pieces. Geena Davis, Halle Berry, Oprah, Terri Hatcher, Angelina Jolie, Lindsay Lohan, Adrien Brody, Jamie Foxx, 50 Cent, Nelly, Clint Eastwood, Will Smith are some of the international celebs who have rocked his pieces. D’banj also makes the list.
A ‘Red Gold Men’s Wedding Band’ currently on sale on Aire’s official website goes for $10, 385.
It is uncertain if other stores are on the way, especially considering the markets in Lagos and Port Harcourt; and we could not immediately reach Aire or his reps for comments.

Would love to get one of aire’s wrist watches ,but soon!
Funny how non of his guests at the opening seem to be wearing any of his pieces! Giving back to Nigeria, hmmm please. How is he giving back exactly is it from the lucrative oil lifting business he was basically given by on a plater of gold by Minister for Petroleum Diezani Alison-Madueke or the keys to the mine precious metals and stones and then make pieces that cost $10,000 and above that an average Nigerian can not buy.
unbeleivable piece of good talanted work, keep it up CA
N’ver despised the days of little begining.
