
Even as Nigerian music industry is rapidly gaining more international exposure, American rapper and business mogul, Jay Z has his eyes set on partnering and investing in the industry through his Roc Nation and Tidal companies.
First he sent his artiste, Jay Electronica to work with Don Jazzy at the Mavin studios in Lagos back in April 2015.
Then in May 2015, he sent his cousin, Briant ‘Bee-High’ Biggs to the country to scout for new talents. Bee-High held meetings with MI Abaga and the Chocolate City team as well as Mavin Records before he left.

And in June 2016, Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage flew to New York to hold a meeting with Jay Z to seal a new deal that’ll see Roc Nation sign on Tiwa Savage to their management firm.

Now, his nephew Rel Carter and Rodney Williams arrived in Lagos a few days ago to continue Jay Z’s talent scouting job.
Jay Z has respected music executives Tola Odunsi and Obi Asika driving his project in Nigeria and from all indications he’s very likely going to make remarkable headway.
