The collection got its inspiration from the ‘Wodaabe‘, a nomadic Fulani group in the Sahel. Known as the ‘People of the Taboo’, their culture and traditional attire indicates beauty and sexual freedom.
According to the brand creator, Bubu Ogisi, ‘the Taboo collection does not draw inspiration from the Wodaabe alone; but also from the contrast it provides other cultures in what they see as a taboo.’
