Embattled Super Eagles captain and Lille of France goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has finally quit the National team after he fell out Coach Sunday Oliseh in the team’s camp in Belgium.
The Akwa Ibom born player, who is Nigeria’s most capped footballer just took to Instagram to announce his decision to call it quits.
Recall, Vincent Enyeama lost his mother about a month ago which made him withdraw from Nigeria’s qualifying match against Niger. Oliseh subsequently named Ahmed Musa as stand-in captain but on his return to the team he was shocked when Oliseh insisted Ahmed remains the captain.
The crisis deepened when Oliseh allegedly called hotel securities to push out the goalkeeper who buried his late mum on Saturday, October 3, 2015.
‘I have fought a good fight for more than 13 years. I have finished my course. I have kept faith and sang the anthem with passion,’ Enyeama posted on Instagram.
‘God bless Nigeria. Henceforth, I am no more the captain of the Nigerian senior team, I am out of the team. I am no more available for International duties,’ Enyeama dropped the bombshell.
