Are you a good playwright? The Royal Court Playwriting Residency Programme presents an avenue for creative playwrights from all over the world to develop a new play with one of Europe’s leading theatres, The Royal Court.
This is an opportunity for the successful writers selected to meet and work with leading British writers, directors and performers.
Since 1989, the Royal Court Theatre has collaborated with emerging playwrights from all over the world with support from the British Council.
Successful writers that have premiered their work in the leading theatre are Noble Prize winners, Wole Soyinka, Samuel Beckett and many others.
The programme will span for four weeks where each playwright will be teamed with their own British theatre Director/translator and a special chosen team of actors who will work to help realize the play.
All interested candidates will be expected to write in their mother tongue. Notwithstanding, the playwright must have a good grasp of English Language as meetings and workshops will be conducted in English.
Applications will be accepted from now till 6pm (British Summer Time) on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.
