Many things are associated with Davido – money, women, booze, tattoos. However, seeing him standing in church to say ‘Praise the Lord’ is very unlikely.
But that’s exactly what happened when Davido attended the City of David parish of Redeemed Christian Church of God.
‘I normally wake up late but I woke up this morning and my friend beckoned on me, ‘OBO, let’s go to church. God has been blessing me so much I never really have time to come and thank Him,’ he said.

Earlier that morning he had first promised to serve God for the rest of his life in an Instagram post that saw him carrying a Bible.
It is not clear if finding God is a result of Davido’s recent issues with SONY and the sudden change in his management that saw long term manager Kamal Ajiboye leave his camp.
Then again, it would be interesting to see Davido become a gospel artiste, even though we know that’s very unlikely.
In spite of his career choice that often sees him in less than religious environments like strip clubs, his parents have always been close to church.
His late mother was a lecturer at the church owned Babcock University while his father reportedly built a church behind his Ikeja office few years ago.
