France and AC Milan striker Jeremy Menez has revealed that he would have ended up in jail if he had not played football.
In an interview Gazzetta Dello Sport, the fomer Paris Saint Germain striker, who once lived in tough suburb of Paris where he has been connected to drug dealers and criminals, admitted that football was an escape route for him.
‘Perhaps if I had not had football I could have ended up in jail ‘After all, a lot of my friends are there. Theft, drugs, those sorts of things… there you want everything but money is short.’
Jeremy Menez who made a switch from PSG to AC Milan in June 2014 for a three year contract has so far scored eight goals in 14 appearances.
