He continued, ‘He gave one Gimbia a food processor, for answering a question, “How do the Bini people greet their Oba?” Gimbia said “Kabiyesi”. Mohammed said, “You are a genius, you deserve a food processor” Then one unfortunate guy called, and said his name was Akpan, he picked a number, the question was “What is the next rank, in the Army, after Captain?” Mohammed changed the question to “What is the name of the wife of the first man to land on the on the moon?” Akpan was dazed. Mohammed went on to ask, what of his mother? Akpan did not know either. Mohammed goes, “You call this program to win prize and you know you don’t know anything. Do you think we are just dashing out gifts on this show? Any olodo who calls this show again, I will curse you?”
‘Then a Hausa lady called from Obalende, she picked a question “Where is Mount Everest?” Mohammed refused to ask that then asked her, “What do you use to make Tuwo?” She said rice. Mohammed gave her a bag of rice and N5,000. Two prizes for such a cheap question! Of course, it was the last one he hosted. When I finally got to the show, all the gifts were gone. The next week, Hausa people were asking for Mohammed to be the presenter…. That said, I miss that fool!’
Mohammed Danjuma, who was one of the pioneers of comedy in the country, shot to limelight as a cast of Second Chance on Nigeria Television Authority (NTA). He died in 2005.
