Controversial South African rapper, AKA grabbed two awards at the just concluded second Annual African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).
Ugandan comedienne Anne Kansiime and Nigerian comedian Basketmouth hosted the awards on Saturday night, October 10, in Dallas, Texas.
The first award won by AKA was ‘Best Male Southern Africa’, beating rap rival Cassper Nyovest and South African R&B singer, Donald as well as Botswana’s Zeus, Zambia’s Slap Dee, Zimbabwe’s Stunner, Namibia’s The Dogg and Botswana’s Vee.
The second award was in the ‘Best Collaboration’ category, which he won for his hit track ‘All Eyes On Me’ featuring Burna Boy, Da LES & J.R.
‘I don’t want any props from these vultures. This moment is for my fans….. ONLY my fans,’ AKA tweeted following his big win.
Other big winners of the night included Yemi Alade, Vanessa Mdee and Diamond Platnumz.
