Usain Bolt is a myth when it comes to racing.
He holds the world record for 100 meters (9.58 seconds in 2009) and 200 metres (19.30 in 2008 and 19.19 in 2009) and he’s also considered as the fastest person ever timed.
The 6-foot-5 sprinter ran 9.81 seconds to match his winning feat at Beijing 2008 and London 2012 and claim his third consecutive 100-meters Olympics gold medal.
‘I expected to go faster, but I’m happy I won, I did what I had to,’ Bolt said after beating USA’s Justin Gatlin (9.89 secs) and Canada’s Andre De Grasse (9.91 secs) to be Olympic champion once again.
Bolt, who’s also going for gold in 200 meters and the 4×100 meters, proved once more that he’s the fastest man on earth and said more – more like boasting that …
‘I am a living legend. Somebody said if I win these three gold medals I would be immortal and I kind of liked it. So I’m going to run with that one.
‘I’m happy and I’m proud of myself. It wasn’t perfect execution, but I’m proud of myself. I wanted to set myself apart from everybody else and this is the Olympics, I have to do it.
‘I came to this Olympics to win three gold medals, to prove myself again as one of the greats.’
