How two teenagers won the 2014 Elite Model Look Nigeria

On Saturday, September 6, 2014, the dreams of 16-year-old Mayowa Nicholas and 18-year-old Victor Nwigwe were fulfilled when they were announced winners of the 2014 edition of the Elite Model Look Nigeria.
The event, which took place at Eko Hotel and Suites, saw the two models beat 18 others to emerge champions of the night.
The competition began a few weeks ago with 100 hopefuls shortlisted from the thousands of applicants.  The 100 were later slashed to 30 out of which only 20 proceeded to the finals. The contestants were judged based on character, motivation, photogenic, elegance and natural beauty.
The winners have as part of their prizes, $150,000, an all expense paid trip to Paris and a chance to represent Nigeria at the Elite Model Look International finals billed to hold in China in an few months.
Nwigwe, an Anambra State indigene is the second of his parent’s five kids and a 300 level student of Pure and Applied Mathematics at University of Benin while Nicholas is a 300 level Accounting student at Crawford University.
Past winners of the competition are Chika Emmauella and Alvin Dayaffin.
