Hollywood’s biggest award show is making a comeback this Sunday, March 15, 2026. The 98th Academy Awards, more popularly known as the Oscars, set to take place at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, will air live across Nigeria on M-Net DStv Channel 101.
Kicking off at 11:30 pm, the Red Carpet Live special will give viewers a front-row seat to the dazzling fashion parade as Hollywood’s biggest stars arrive in style. Then, at the stroke of midnight on Monday, March 16, the main show begins.
For this year, comedian Conan O’Brien returns as host for a second consecutive time, and the ceremony promises to be one for the history books. Ryan Coogler’s film Sinners has made history by becoming the movie with the most Oscar nominations ever, with a staggering 16 nods, surpassing legendary titles like Titanic and La La Land. Close behind are One Battle After Another with 13 nominations and Marty Supreme, making this one of the most hotly contested Oscars in recent memory.
This year’s Oscars will also debut a brand-new category, Achievement in Casting, making it the first time the art of assembling film ensembles has been officially recognised on the Oscars stage.
With star presenters including Robert Downey Jr, Anne Hathaway, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and past winners Adrien Brody and Zoe Saldaña taking the stage, there will be no shortage of unforgettable moments throughout the night.
For those who can’t stay up past midnight, M-Net 101 will broadcast a repeat of the full show on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 9:00 pm; a perfect opportunity to relive all the wins, speeches, and surprises.
