Egypt’s proceeded to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations final after defeating Burkina Faso 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
And veteran goalkeeper Essam El Hadary was the hero after saving two penalty kicks.
Hadary conceded his first goal at the ongoing AFCON when Burkina Faso’s attacker Aristide Bance volleyed in the West Africans equaliser.
Mohamed Salah had put Héctor Cúper’s side ahead in the 66th minute opener, with both sides failing to score further goals in extra time.
In the penalty shootout, Hadary kept out efforts from Bertrand Traore and goalkeeper Herve Koffi – who’s 24 years younger that Hadary – to see the Pharaohs through.
The 44-year-old skipper is the oldest AFCON player in history and favourite to win his fifth title this year.

Seven-time African champs Egypt will face the winner of the second semi-final between Cameroon and Ghana.
The final will take place at Stade de l’Amitié, Libreville on Sunday, February 5, while the third place playoff holds on Saturday.
