The 43-year old rapper was overwhelmed with the messages of praise she received on Twitter after joining Katy Perry at the NFL game’s half-time show last night, Sunday, February 2, 2015, during which she performed her hits, ‘Get Ur Freak On’, ‘Work It’ and ‘Lose Control’ – and felt ‘humbled’ by the reception she received.
She wrote on twitter: ‘Thank u all for the out pouring of love @ the SuperBowl! & @katyperry I’m humbly grateful for u inviting me to join u.
‘I cried because I’ve been thru so much but I’m still here & thru the grace of God & u the fans believing in me I love y’all (sic).’
After retweeting a number of messages from fans, she later wrote: ‘Thank y’all again sorry if I keep saying thank u but I’m just crying tears of joy and humbled! (sic)’
And Missy went on to praise Lenny Kravitz, who had also made an appearance during the show, performing ‘I Kissed a Girl’ with Katy.
She wrote: ‘@LennyKravitz I love u 2! Your energy is everything! U slay Thank u @katyperry again I’m very humbled (sic)’
