The Super Bowl half time show is usually seen as the pinnacle of a musician’s career. You have either performed at the half time show or you have not. No two ways.
Past performers at the show have included Coldplay, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Madonna, Usher, The Black Eyed Peas and Missy Elliott.
So when Lady Gaga was announced as the performer for this year’s Super Bowl between New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons, it was a sure sign that she was making a full comeback after a few years out in the musical cold.
And in the freezing cold of the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, she lit up the whole arena.
Descending from the top of the stadium with cables strung through her very shiny outfit, she landed on top of a cauldron-like apparatus and rolled back the years as she churned out her monster hits, starting with a rendition of ‘God Bless America’.
She would perform some of her other hits like, ‘Poker Face’, ‘Born this Way’, ‘Telephone’, ‘Just Dance’, ‘Million Reasons’, ‘Bad Romance’.
The result of the Super Bowl, which has already been billed the greatest of all time, might have been truly remarkable but there is no doubt that Lady Gaga was the true star of the show.
No Fields Found.
