According to reports, the 29-year old was determined to a become the prize winner and was leading the race before she collapsed just 50 metres to the finish line.
The Kenyan athlete eventually finished third in the race. With her act of bravery and unrelenting gut not going unrewarded, she was later awarded the prize money for the second place by organisers.
Following her impact in the race, Hyvon was grateful and expressed her relief thus: ‘Oh, God, thank you, I crossed.’
