Ayo Animashaun is planning another revolution with the announcement, today Wednesday, June 17, 2015, of a new platform dedicated to live entertainment broadcast.
The media leader who started his career over two decades ago publishing song books is a man of many firsts: first music magazine, first urban culture awards, first all girls event, first music editorial channel and now, first real time TV for entertainment events.
As he unveiled the channel’s high tech outside broadcast equipment today, he shared his plans for the business, highlighting the importance of real time media to consumers across the world. It’s worked for the World Cup, for the Super Bowl and the Olympics. It’s worked for The Grammys and the Oscars. Now Animashaun wants to make it work for local entertainment events in Nigeria.
‘We’re changing prime time to real time TV’ he told NET today, June 17, 2015 at Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.
The launch event was attended by musicians Dr Sid, Korede Bello, Iyanya, M.I, Olu Maintain, Tolu, Jimmy JATT and DJ Lambo; corporate executives Kola Oyeyemi, Tony Agenmonmen, Martin Mabutho, Tokunbo Adodo, Sampson Oloche, Mary Akpobome, Jire Anifalaje, Emeka Mba, Chris Ubosi and many others.
It is possible Hip TV is on the something great, if the views of today’s speakers and pundits who spoke with Nigerian Entertainment Today are to be taken seriously.
