D’banj couldn’t perform at the High Impact 2 concert which took place on Friday, November 23, 2012, at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island, due to technical problems.
The show, which kicked off at exactly 10:00pm, had music from singer Waje, Mavin signees D’Prince and Tiwa Savage, ‘Kukere’ singer Iyanya and pop star Davido, but technical issues, mainly power outages, marred the rest of the performances, ultimately causing the momentum to drop, and stopping D’banj from performing for waiting fans.
A D’banj fan, Vincent from Obalende, was disappointed, saying the show was ‘not up to average…we [even] waited after the power had gone, still hoping D’banj was going to perform.’
Another anonymous fan said ‘All I came here for is D’banj and when I couldn’t see him perform I left the venue with regrets.
Some other fans at the venue were overheard saying that if they’d known D’banj wasn’t going to perform, they’d have spent the money they used for the gate fee on beer.
Meanwhile, an Okada man who made his way into the venue said ‘I did not pay N5000 to see power failure while an artiste is performing, they should give me my balance or let us see D’banj, even if he’s not going to perform.’
While regular guests paid N5000 for a single ticket, other tickets cost N20000 (for VIP) and N300000 (for table of 6).
And it was not only the fans that had it bad.
The highly-promoted concert failed to live up to its billing, with many of the artistes complaining bitterly about the terrible sound. Many managers openly complained backstage, but it seemed the organisers were helpless. Several performances were either abruptly cut off, off not executed at all.

I paid for the show to see…. Legendary Kokomaster Dbanj baba now!!
But all i saw was one rubish Afefe singer!!
I so hated that show and i regreted going could not even see D’BANJ And de marvin people made de show so boring except tiwa that tried a lil bit,i need a refund pls.
lol, this Solution Media people sef,they can actually not render any solutions, even to themselves, Same thing happened last year at the Kings college annex where the event held,
An event which was supposed to start off at 7pm with likes of 2face, MI and the rest to perform, It didnt strt untill 12- 1am the next morning, ofcourse i had already left,
Sound system was so poor, lights out every second of the way, the MC Teju baby face, tried all he could yet…..his mic was as gud as useless….
i thank God i didnt pay…I got a VIP Pass, i was so close to the stage on the round tables yet…nothing for all the troubles, i didnt see even one artiste perform….Jeez…
I think they should rebrand if not they be dead as it is when announced ever again in las gidi, They just keep doing this efizzy with colorful lights……lol…
na wetin pple pay to come see??….
High Impact, Solution media,…u guys gats to work on you self, rebrand and give lagosians what you have deprived the 2 times now..

I am appologising on behalf of my friend D-banj for not attending the show. He was my main artiste that night at ‘CHIN-CHIN SHOW WITH UNCLE CHIN-CHIN’.
