A private funeral of Late rap veteran Heavy D (real name Dwight Arrington Myers) has been announced to take place at a historic black Baptist church in a northern residential district of New York City on Friday, November 18, 2011.
The announcement was made by Grace Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, founded in 1888.
As reported earlier, the rapper passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at a Los Angeles hospital. He passed away at the age of 44 years.

I was at the barbershop when I heard he pass away my heart goes out to heavy d, and his family. I grew up and listen to old school rap music with Dougie fresh, LL cool j, big daddy kawne ,heavy d and the boyz was one of them one of his songs we got our own thang, and girls that love me for a big guy with his size he had dance skills and can move. He’s going to be miss him and James brown are going to be dancing in heaven all day long god bless u heavy d
