Osabuohien ‘Sarz’ Osaretin has been named Producer of the Year at the 2022 Headies Awards, held in Atlanta, United States, on Sunday, September 4, 2022.
It’s his first win after two previous nominations. He was nominated alongside Beats by Jay, Blaise Beatz, Niphkeys, P Priime, Pheelz.
In his acceptance speech, Sarz dedicated the award to P Priime, an alumnus of his Sarz Academy and said “he really deserves it. He’s worked so hard this year.”
P.Priime, the 20-year-old producer behind some of the biggest hit sings out of Nigeria since 2021, produced Ozumba Mbadiwe by Reekado Banks, Gelato by DJ Cuppy ft Zlatan and Like I Do off Fireboy’s Laughter, Tears, Goosebumps album. He also produced seven out of 12 songs in Olamide’s Carpe Diem album.
