Brandon Hudspeth served as acting U.S Consular General, in Nigeria for two years and the special sent-forth organised in his honour, was a gathering of Nigeria’s key business, media, entertainment industry stakeholders as well as Brandon Hudspeth’s colleagues and friends who shared memorable moments of the diplomat’s stay in Nigeria.
The event was anchored by Nollywood actor Osas Ighodaro and comedian Bovi Ugboma.
Describing Hudspeth as an “energetic and vibrant” individual who “sees the potential in both the Nigerian populace as well as the country”, the diplomat’s colleagues said he will be greatly missed. Also described as a ‘major asset’, they shared, “Hudspeth sees into the future and his leaving will create a major gap.”
On Thursday, May 12, 2022, the US Consulate General in Nigeria had hosted entertainment stakeholders and enthusiasts at a pre-award party in celebration of The Headies’ international expansion.
The Headies has consistently honoured Nigerian music talents while recognising their outstanding music ingenuity. For its 15th edition, The Headies is designated to take place at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Atlanta, in September 2022.
In celebration of the growing cultural and socio-economic ties between the United States and Nigeria, the US Consulate General launched a Headies pre-award party organised by US Ambassador Mary Beth Leonard.
In a similar fashion, the media entrepreneur, Ayo Animashaun, hosted the outgoing Consular General, Brandon Hudspet, to a special sent-forth event attended by some of the A-listers in Nigeria’s business, media, and entertainment industry.
