US based online television service, PANA TV has acquired the rights to stream controversial movie ‘Half of A Yellow Sun‘ on the internet.
The company’s rep, Desire Ndimande confirmed to NET via a statement, ‘We recently acquired the rights to stream Half of A Yellow Sun in the US and UK. It is currently the biggest movie ever made from Nigeria. Apart from its poignancy, the backdrop of the movie touches on the Biafra War, a very pivotal aspect of Nigeria’s history‘, she wrote.
Half of a Yellow Sun begun streaming to an American audience on Sunday, June 29, 2014. It will not be available to online users in Nigeria.
The movie is directed by Biyi Bandele and stars Oscar nominee, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Anika Noni Rose, Genevieve Nnaji, Onyeka Onwenu and OC Ukeje.
