Guiliana and Bill Rancic welcome baby boy

E! anchor and US entrepreneur Guiliana and Bill Rancic have welcomed their first child –  a bouncing baby boy Edward Duke Rancic delivered by a surrogate.

Bill happily announced via Twitter his son’s birth, ‘The ‘Duke’ has landed! Edward Duke Rancic was welcomed into the world last night at 7lbs 4oz. G & I feel blessed beyond words…We did it’.

Both Bill and Giuliana were in the delivery room for the birth, reports E! Bill cut the umbilical cord, and Giuliana was the first to hold her son for a long while, before giving him to Bill. The new parents both fed their baby, who they say had a big appetite, E! reports.

The couple who got married on September 1, 2007 have often publicly discussed their fertility issues on television talk shows, having tried to conceive since 2009. Rancic got pregnant in the spring of 2010; however, she suffered a miscarriage at nine weeks.

In late 2011, Guiliana was diagnosed for breast cancer. Despite this condition, the couple were however still motivated to have a baby, so they went on with the egg retrieval and got a surrogate.
