There’s been Judith Sephuma. There’s been Yolanda Brown. There’s been Kunle Ayo, M.I, Tosin Martins and Waje. And there’s been the almighty Kenny G. Now, who do you think the organisers of Sax Appeal will bring on still next year, when the concert enters year four?
They seem to have an idea already – telling us in the brochure for this year’s event ‘who would you love to see in Sax Appeal 4? George Benson, Sade Adu or Dave Kox?’
At the second edition in 2010, host Mike Aremu promised fans they’ll see Kenny G – a bestselling, globally renowned Jazz musician- the following year. He kept that promise on July 3, 2011 when Kenny G and his 5-man band performed to over 5000 guests at the Expo Centre of Eko Hotels and Suites, in Lagos.
And Aremu, himself a respected saxophonist and performer, has hinted either or all of Benson, Adu and Koz could make it for the gig next year.
George Benson is a multi-Grammy Award winning American musician, whose production career began at the age of twenty-one as a jazz guitarist.
Sade is a British singer-songwriter, composer, and record producer. She first achieved success in the 1980s as the frontwoman and lead vocalist of the Brit and Grammy Award winning English group Sade.
Dave Koz is an American saxophonist born March 27, 1963. He has till date released 15 albums
