Former Real Madrid and Barcelona star, Luis Figo’s home in the Spanish capital was reportedly broken into by thieves who made away with expensive watches and other jewellery worth about €500,000 (N250m).
The thieves, who also took cash from the former footballer’s home, gained entrance into the house, while Luis and his wife Helen Svedin were away from their home, through a door on the first floor.
This is the second time Luis Figo’s home has been broken into. In 2003, three armed men broke into his home and looted several valuables.
Figo is regarded as one the greatest European players ever and is one of the few players to have played for both Spanish giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona. He retired from playing football in 2009.
