As the much anticipated award-winning theatre show FELA! draws nearer day by day, an effort to relive the exact moments experienced at the Broadway theatre is being put together. The organisers say Lagos is set to witness something they have never before.
A few months ago, FELA! which was screened at the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos impressed a lot of fans of the Afrobeat maestro, so it was only natural for the New York based cast and crew to make their way down to the birthplace of the activist-performer.
And right now, the production crew have already begun reconstruction of the Expo Hall of Eko Hotel and Suites, venue of the forthcoming show. Why? To recreate the same atmosphere as the fans and guests will be treated to an awesome show. FELA! will in all be showing 8 times with 2 shows on Easter Sunday and on Easter Monday.
Here is a brief schedule of events:
April 17: Reception for cast and crew of FELA!
April 18: Afro Beat Concert
April 19: Breakfast Session and forum discussion on ‘Propagating Cinema Culture in Nigeria’
April 20: Commencement of show with a Red Carpet Event
April 26: Farewell Party
