It’s time to spice up that wardrobe of yours with more vibrant colours ranging from hot pink to deep blue, down to every shade you can cook up; pink on blue, purple on yellow and lots of other combinations. Wearing all bright colours makes you exude 100 per cent confidence.
The secret to this fashion trend is either to ‘colour block’, ‘colour tone’ or ‘colour pop’. To colour block, you choose shades that are the direct opposite on the colour wheel, but stick with simple shapes of clothes; you don’t want to ‘do too much’. Note that you have to choose shades that have the same level of intensity; you can combine the colours pink and yellow, orange and blue but not yellow and purple, as it will look unbalanced. Another thing you shouldn’t do is colour block with stripes, floral, prints or any kind of pattern at all, you don’t want to be looking like a circus clown.
Not a big fab of wild colours? Then you can colour tone just by using colours in the same family. It gives a sophisticated, conservative and more mature look. You can try clashing colours like royal blue and purple or pale green and lemon pastels. Simple accessories; neutral, black or metallic, will allow the colour pop, but never accessorize with the same colour shade of what you are wearing.
Here’s an idea; try wearing a pink dress and matching it with an aqua blue shoe. That’s making your colours pop! Don’t be afraid to think out of the box, but neither should you jumble up your hues to achieve that look. Be strict in choosing the colours.
Now try it out, and be at your brightest!
