DJ Jimmy Jatt, 2Baba, Vector, Jaywon, Faze, Black Face, Basket Mouth, Larry Gaaga, and a host of other music stars have been shortlisted to headline the Festac Music Festival to take place in Festac, where most of the stars, including late Sound Sultan, started their music career and rose to stardom.
Other stars performing at the show include Kenny Blaq, Do2dtun, Tome, Efe Warri Boy, and Spydaman, among others.
The show celebrating the life of Sound Sultan – who passed away from Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma (AITL) on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at 44 – will take place on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at FHA Field, 23rd, Festac town, by 8 pm. His elder brother, Dare ‘Baba Dee’ Fasasi, the Festival Director, has tapped some of the biggest stars in the entertainment industry to perform.
“The event in the past has featured leading Nigerian musicians like 2Baba, Daddy Showkey, Idris Adbul Kareem, Jesse Jagz, 9ice and a host of other top musicians across the nation,” says Baba Dee.
“This year’s Festac music festival promises to be an exciting musical atmosphere that will pay special tribute to late Sound Sultan.”
The tribute concert is coming five months after NECLive collaborated with the Fasasi family, friends, and colleagues of Sound Sultan to host an evening of music, poetry, dance, comedy and talk, a global tribute held in four cities – Lagos, London, New York and Atlanta, in honour and celebration of Sound Sultan.
