When Falz the Bahd Guy uploaded photos of himself and a woman dressed in wedding attire on August 28, accompanied by the caption, “It’s been a long time coming, and having to do this with you is one of the best decisions of my life,” the internet was understandably abuzz.
Speculation quickly followed. Some thought it was a photoshoot or marketing stunt for his sixth studio album, while others assumed he had either gotten married or engaged. Mostly it was the latter.
The comments, over eighteen thousand, ranged from congratulatory to sceptical to disappointed. But fans didn’t have to wonder for long, because Falz shared another post that cleared up the misunderstanding.
This follow-up revealed that the photo was part of a collaboration with a luxury stylist. And if that wasn’t clear enough, his post three days later shut down the speculation for good. In the video, he explained that since people found out he hadn’t actually got married, they’ve been calling him the boy who cried wolf and saying that no one will care when he does get married.
In response to these sentiments, Falz quipped, “Bold of you to assume that I wish for you to be in the marriage with me. Bold of you to assume that if I’m actually getting married I’ll share it.” He followed this up with, “But you never know. You never know. I might be so in love I’ll just feel like I want the world to know. You never know.”
