This week, those rumours stopped being rumours when Brooklyn, 26, addressed the situation directly in a series of Instagram Stories, publicly confirming that he is estranged from David and Victoria Beckham and explaining why.
Brooklyn said he had stayed silent for a long time to protect his family’s privacy, but felt pushed to speak after what he described as years of false narratives, particularly the idea that Nicola controls him or caused the rift. “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” he wrote, adding that speaking up now was about finally standing up for himself. “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
According to Brooklyn, the core issue has always been how his wife has been treated. He claimed that Nicola has been repeatedly disrespected by his family since early in their relationship, both behind closed doors and in ways that later became public talking points. He revisited the long-discussed controversy surrounding Nicola’s wedding dress, claiming that Victoria had initially offered to design it before backing out late in the process. One of the most revealing moments in Brooklyn’s statement focused on David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations in May 2025. At the time, Brooklyn and Nicola’s absence from the high-profile event raised eyebrows. Brooklyn now says they were in London and actively trying to see David privately, but were shut out. He claimed they spent a week waiting in a hotel while his attempts to meet his father were refused unless it was at the large birthday party itself.
