
Ed Sheeran has been sued over his 2014 hit song ‘Thinking Out Loud’, according to a new report. The family of Ed Townsend, the co-writer of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Let’s Get It On’, have reportedly accused Sheeran of lifting melody, harmony, and rhythm compositions from Gaye’s 1973 hit for ‘Thinking Out Loud’.

Earlier this year, Sheeran won two Grammys for ‘Thinking Out Loud’, including Song of the Year. Sheeran was recently sued for copyright infringement over his song ‘Photograph’.
Gaye’s family last year won $7.4m after successfully suing Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams for copyright infringement over their single ‘Blurred Lines’.
