Media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has officially launched his highly anticipated podcast, “MENtality with Ebuka,” with an exclusive screening and premiere that gathered Nigeria’s entertainment elite. The new limited series aims to redefine conversations around modern masculinity.
The launch event was a star-studded affair, attracting familiar faces like Nancy Isime, Adekunle Olopade, Hermes, Tobi Bakre, and power couples Banky W and Adesua Etomi-Wellington, alongside Toolz and Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi. The red carpet was a showcase of high-end fashion, setting a sophisticated tone for the evening.
On the red carpet, Ebuka told NETNG the platform’s core mission: to show men they are not alone in their troubles and that they can be vulnerable. “I want men to see that vulnerability is not weakness and it’s okay to even tell other men in their circle that they love them,” he stated.
Co-host Banky W echoed this sentiment, noting that the podcast will feature popular figures discussing their struggles and how they navigate them, assuring listeners that their experiences are shared.
The launch, anchored by Deji Osikoya, treated attendees to conversation, laughter, and several Q&A sessions. A major highlight was the interview session featuring Ebuka and Banky W, which gave a live glimpse into the show’s dynamic.
Attendees were shown snippets of upcoming episodes, with guests like Bovi, Noble Igwe, Seun Kuti, and Hermes, discussing a range of critical topics including finance, family, marriage, and fidelity.
Another key moment was the “He Said/She Said” segment, where Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi and Toolz, hosts of the popular OffAir podcast, offered a crucial female perspective on clips from the show.
The launch successfully set the premise for MENtality with Ebuka as a groundbreaking platform poised to foster honest, human, and humorous conversations that challenge traditional notions of Nigerian masculinity.
