Drake has landed a mid-year hit with tuneful record ‘In My Feelings’ which is the centre of an ongoing dance challenge dubbed #DoTheShiggy.
It all started a week after Drake squashed the competition with his 25-track double album, Scorpion, notched his eighth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 and also had the biggest streaming week ever for a full-length release, generating over 745 million streams.
The trend was triggered by online comedian Shiggy, who kicked things off by putting his signature “Shiggy Moves” on the track In My Feelings off Drake’s new album and shared it with his Instagram followers.
Shiggy’s ‘exciting dance routine’ saw him interpreting lyrics like “Are you riding?” by dancing and miming steering a car and making a heart with his hands for lyrics like “Keke, do you love me?” The caption to the video used the hashtags, #InMyFeelingsChallenge and #DotheShiggy, which thousands of fans have now adopted to show off their own interpretive dance videos to the song.
Like every other trend, “In My Feelings challenge” has also become a hit with celebs, garnering videos from the likes of New York Sportsman – Odell Beckham Jnr, Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson, Lala Anthony, Kevin Hart, and more.
Nigerians are have also caught the buzz as a number have begun making fun dance videos to the record.
