International DJ, DJ Sose, is joining the Nigerian Idol show as a judge for the sixth season. The Nigerian-Hungarian DJ, born Thomas Omonkhogie Amar-Aigbe will be joined by songbird, Seyi Shay and entertainment entrepreneur, Obi Asika.
As we anticipate the premiere of the sixth season of the music reality show, we look at 5 reasons why Sose will make a very good judge on Nigerian Idol.
- DJ Sose has spent over a decade in the music industry, and he is still respected. If anyone knows about music and the music industry, it’s him.
- The Nigerian music sound is changing and his diverse taste in music which ranges from classic music to jazz, hip hop, house, EDM and afro pop makes him knowledgeable about how musical styles can be versatile and yet appealing. He has an unconventional style which is reflected in his dress sense, facial tattoo and performance. Sose has been known to mix songs from different eras and genres.
- DJ Sose is also known for playing songs that are not necessarily commercial. If the song is good, he’ll play it. So, contestants who might not have the commercial appeal but are super talented, can be sure to get a good word from Sose.
- As a DJ, Sose knows first-hand what type of music appeals to people. The Nigerian Idol is expected to appeal to not only viewers but also to a broad range of audiences and who better to know the mass appeal market than a DJ.
- In a world where entertainers are diversifying their field of income, DJ Sose is also moving along with the times. He is a producer and has 3 singles to his credit. Natasha featuring General Pype, Mr. Raw & Shogon; Arike featuring Adepiper & Shogon and Obulu with Charity Olisa. He also has a comic book series where his character BEATZ uses his powers to fight off bullies. We look forward to seeing him use his superpower to find the next Nigerian Idol.
